Position Overview
FedEx Freight seeks CDL-A Pickup & Delivery Drivers to handle daily commercial freight routes within a defined metro service area. You will drive a day cab tractor pulling single or tandem trailers, making scheduled and on-call stops at manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and retail businesses. All routes originate and terminate at your home service center with no overnight travel required.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a daily route of 12–25 commercial stops picking up and delivering palletized LTL freight.
- Maneuver tractor-trailer combinations into tight industrial dock areas and shared commercial loading zones.
- Operate a pallet jack to position freight on customer docks and inside trailer compartments.
- Verify shipment details against Bills of Lading and obtain electronic proof of delivery at each stop.
- Report equipment malfunctions, road hazards, and customer service issues to dispatch in real time.
Qualifications & Benefits
Must be 21+ with a valid Class A CDL and at least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience. Clean driving record and satisfactory CSA scores required.
