Position Overview
FedEx Freight is hiring Over-the-Road CDL-A Drivers for scheduled long-haul lane assignments connecting major service center hubs. You will depart with loaded trailers on multi-hundred-mile interstate runs, complete relay exchanges or direct deliveries at destination terminals, and return on your assigned schedule. Predictable bid routes ensure consistent home time every week.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive loaded tractor-trailer combinations on scheduled interstate lanes spanning 300–600+ miles per run.
- Execute relay trailer swaps at designated midpoint locations with opposing OTR drivers on return legs.
- Maintain strict ELD compliance managing Hours of Service across extended driving windows.
- Perform comprehensive FMCSA-compliant vehicle inspections before departure and upon arrival at each terminal.
- Communicate proactively with linehaul dispatch regarding weather delays, mechanical issues, and ETA changes.
Qualifications & Benefits
Must be 21+ with a valid Class A CDL and doubles/triples endorsement preferred. Minimum 18 months verifiable OTR tractor-trailer experience. Impeccable safety record and clean CSA profile mandatory. Must pass DOT physical and drug screening.
