About FedEx Payroll Operations

Paying over 500,000 employees accurately and on time every single pay period is one of the most operationally critical functions inside FedEx Corporation. The payroll team processes a staggering volume of timecards, shift differentials, overtime calculations, commission payments, and tax withholdings across multiple pay frequencies, states, and FedEx operating companies. Payroll Specialists are the detail-focused professionals who ensure every employee receives the correct pay on schedule while maintaining strict compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.

Position Overview

FedEx is hiring Payroll Specialists to process employee payroll across assigned business units and facilities. You will reconcile timecards, calculate overtime and shift differentials, process payroll adjustments and corrections, respond to employee pay inquiries, and ensure compliance with FLSA, state wage laws, and internal FedEx pay policies. This is an office-based position within the FedEx corporate shared services organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for assigned employee populations including timecard reconciliation, overtime calculation, and earnings verification.
• Calculate and apply shift differentials, holiday premiums, and commission payments per operating company pay structures.
• Process payroll adjustments including retroactive corrections, final pays, garnishment orders, and tax withholding changes.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding pay discrepancies, tax questions, and direct deposit setup.
• Ensure payroll compliance with FLSA, state-specific wage and hour laws, and FedEx internal pay policies across multi-state operations.

Qualifications & Benefits

Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years payroll processing experience using enterprise payroll systems (ADP, Workday, SAP, or similar). FPC or CPP certification preferred. Strong attention to numerical accuracy and confidentiality. Knowledge of FLSA, multi-state tax withholding, and garnishment processing.
