Position Overview
FedEx Freight is hiring Night Dock Workers for the overnight shift at service center facilities. Working approximately 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, you will process inbound linehaul freight, sort shipments into destination lanes, and build outbound trailer loads for next-day delivery dispatch. This is the highest-volume dock shift with premium overnight pay differentials.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload inbound linehaul trailers arriving throughout the night from origin terminals across the network.
- Sort all received freight by destination service center code and stage in correct dock lanes using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Build tight, damage-free outbound loads in P&D trailers staged for early morning driver departure.
- Process cross-dock freight that requires immediate transfer between inbound and outbound trailers without staging.
- Complete end-of-shift dock reconciliation counts and report discrepancies to the overnight supervisor.
