About FedEx Express Pickup Operations

Every afternoon across the country, FedEx Express pickup couriers fan out to collect outbound shipments from thousands of business accounts before the daily sort cutoff. These scheduled and on-call pickups feed the evening sort operation that connects to the overnight air network — making the pickup courier one of the most time-critical roles in the FedEx Express system. Every package collected on time means a customer's overnight commitment is met; every missed pickup means a broken promise.

Position Overview

FedEx Express is hiring Pickup Couriers to execute afternoon and evening collection routes from commercial business accounts. You will drive a company-provided vehicle on a condensed, time-sensitive route collecting outbound priority and international shipments, returning all collected freight to the station before the sort cutoff deadline. This role operates during afternoon and early evening hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled pickup stops at commercial accounts collecting outbound FedEx Express priority and international shipments.
• Respond to on-call pickup dispatches throughout the afternoon, integrating new stops into your active route efficiently.
• Verify that all collected packages meet FedEx Express packaging, labeling, and dangerous goods acceptance standards.
• Scan all collected shipments at the point of pickup, providing customers with immediate proof-of-collection documentation.
• Return to the station before the sort cutoff deadline with all collected freight staged for evening sort processing.

Qualifications & Benefits

Must be 21+ with a valid driver's license, clean MVR, and ability to lift 75 lbs. Must pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screen. Afternoon and early evening availability required, typically 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
