Position Overview
FedEx Express is hiring Cargo Handlers to work inside hub sorting facilities processing inbound and outbound air freight. You will break down incoming aircraft containers, sort packages onto automated conveyor systems, and build outbound ULD containers for departing flights. This is an indoor facility position with climate-controlled work areas and premium overnight shift pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Break open inbound aircraft containers and transfer packages onto powered conveyor sorting lines.
- Scan and sort packages at high speed using barcode technology, directing items to correct destination chutes.
- Build outbound Unit Load Device containers, stacking packages efficiently to maximize weight and volume capacity.
- Handle priority, fragile, and temperature-sensitive shipments per FedEx Express special handling protocols.
- Maintain scan accuracy above 99.5% while sustaining continuous throughput pace during peak sort windows.
