Position Overview
FedEx Express is hiring Overnight Sort Associates for the midnight-to-sunrise hub sort operation at major airport facilities. You will work inside the automated sort building, inducting packages onto conveyor systems, clearing jams, managing sort exceptions, and directing overflow volume to secondary processing lines. Premium overnight pay applies to all hours worked during this shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Induct packages from container breakdown areas onto high-speed automated conveyor sorting systems.
- Monitor conveyor junctions and divert stations, clearing jams and restarting flow to prevent sort line shutdowns.
- Process sort exceptions including unreadable barcodes, overweight items, and address-correction packages manually.
- Direct overflow volume to secondary sort lines during peak induction windows to prevent primary system overload.
- Meet continuous pace requirements to ensure all packages clear the sort before the outbound aircraft departure window.
Qualifications & Benefits
