Position Overview
FedEx Freight is hiring Straight Truck Drivers with a CDL-B or CDL-A to operate 24-to-26-foot liftgate-equipped trucks on specialized urban and suburban delivery routes. You will handle freight at locations without traditional loading docks, using the hydraulic liftgate and pallet jack to ground-deliver palletized shipments directly to customer floors and receiving areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 24-to-26-foot straight truck with hydraulic liftgate through residential-commercial mixed zones and restricted-access areas.
- Deliver palletized freight to ground-level receiving areas at locations without dock-height loading bays.
- Use the truck-mounted liftgate and electric pallet jack for safe, controlled freight lowering and placement.
- Navigate weight-restricted roads, low-clearance structures, and tight parking areas common in urban delivery zones.
- Maintain daily vehicle logs, delivery receipts, and fuel records per DOT and company requirements.
Qualifications & Benefits
Must be 21+ with a valid Class B CDL (Class A also accepted). Prior straight truck or box truck delivery experience preferred. Clean MVR required. Must pass DOT physical and drug screening. Ability to operate a pallet jack and liftgate, and lift up to 75 lbs.
