Position Overview
FedEx Express is hiring Heavy Check Aircraft Mechanics to perform C-check and D-check level maintenance on wide-body cargo aircraft at dedicated heavy maintenance facilities. You will work as part of large maintenance teams disassembling aircraft zones, performing deep structural inspections, replacing time-limited components, and completing extensive system restorations over multi-week maintenance visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform zone-assigned structural inspections during C-check and D-check maintenance events on wide-body freighter aircraft.
- Remove and reinstall flight control surfaces, access panels, interior linings, and system components per task card work packages.
- Execute corrosion treatment, structural repairs, and component replacements identified during deep airframe inspections.
- Perform functional tests on hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and fuel systems following component restoration work.
- Document all work accomplished with precision in the aircraft maintenance tracking system per FAR Part 121 standards.
Qualifications & Benefits
Must hold a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate. Minimum 3 years experience on transport-category aircraft heavy maintenance preferred. Familiarity with Boeing 757, 767, 777, or MD-11 airframes highly valued. Must work assigned shift schedules during multi-week check events.
