About FedEx Express Ramp Operations

FedEx Express ramp operations are the high-speed interface between the world's largest cargo air fleet and the ground sorting network. Every night at hub airports across the country, ramp agents race against the clock to unload arriving widebody aircraft, transfer containers through the sort facility, and reload departing planes — all within a narrow operational window measured in minutes, not hours. Ramp agents work outdoors on active airfield aprons surrounded by jet engines, ground equipment, and heavy cargo containers.

Position Overview

FedEx Express is hiring Ramp Agents to load and unload cargo aircraft at airport hub and station facilities. You will operate belt loaders, container dollies, tugs, and cargo transporters to move freight between aircraft and the sorting facility. This is a physically demanding outdoor position offering premium shift differentials and full FedEx Express benefits from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo containers, pallets, and bulk freight from FedEx aircraft cargo holds using mechanized belt loaders.
• Drive container dollies and cargo tugs across active airport ramp areas following strict airfield traffic rules.
• Build and break down Unit Load Devices matching aircraft compartment specifications and weight limits.
• Marshal aircraft during gate arrival and pushback operations using standard hand signals and wing walkers.
• Operate in compliance with FAA, TSA, and FedEx Express ramp safety standards at all times on the airfield.

Qualifications & Benefits

Must be 18+ years of age with a valid driver's license. Must pass TSA security background check and obtain SIDA airport badge. Ability to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather including extreme heat, cold, rain, and jet blast.
