Position Overview
FedEx Express is hiring Vehicle Maintenance Technicians to service and repair the courier delivery fleet at station-level maintenance facilities. You will perform PM inspections, brake jobs, electrical diagnostics, HVAC repairs, and engine troubleshooting on a mixed fleet of gas, diesel, and emerging electric delivery vehicles. This is a hands-on shop position with structured schedules and full FedEx Express benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections on delivery vans, trucks, and specialty vehicles per fleet intervals.
- Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering components, electrical circuits, HVAC systems, and engine accessories.
- Conduct state safety inspections and DOT annual inspections on applicable commercial vehicles in the fleet.
- Troubleshoot check-engine faults using OBD-II and manufacturer-specific diagnostic scan tools.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, tool inventory, and parts ordering records in the fleet management information system.
Qualifications & Benefits
Must be 18+ with minimum 2 years experience in automotive or light/medium truck repair. ASE certifications preferred — FedEx sponsors testing fees. Must provide basic hand tools; FedEx supplies lifts, diagnostic equipment, and specialty tools. Valid driver's license required for test drives.
